Facebook is celebrating it’s 6th birthday today – many happy returns from The IT Job Board!
I must admit I wasn’t convinced it would stand the test of time when it first launched back in 2004; but this highly addictive social networking tool has gone from strength to strength. It made me wonder what makes it so popular amongst its ever-growing, global user base and if the bubble will ever burst.
Is it because it provides the perfect medium for connecting people, allowing us to share information such as photos, links and events? Or is it just because we all like to be nosey?
That leads me onto my next question: is it simply a bit of fun or are we kissing goodbye to our privacy? And if so, do we really care?
